How does player training and experience work? (1)

Every player earns Experience Points (XP) automatically from playing matches. You don't need to do anything special to generate it. The base amount is tied to minutes played, with bonuses on top: +20 XP for a win, +15 XP per goal, +10 XP per assist, and +10 XP for a clean sheet if the player was in a defensive position (GK, CB, LB, or RB). A player's Potential also scales their XP gain: higher-potential players earn noticeably more XP from the same match than a low-potential player would. Once a player has enough XP banked, you can spend it to train a specific attribute (Pace, Shooting, Passing, Tackling, etc.) up by a single point from their profile page. The catch is that the XP cost per point rises steeply as the attribute gets higher. Training an attribute from 40 to 41 costs 38 XP, but pushing an already-elite attribute from 94 to 95 costs 1,313 XP, and the cost keeps climbing all the way up to a hard cap of 110 for any trainable stat. In practice this means early attribute gains are cheap and fast, while squeezing the last few points out of a world-class player is a long-term investment. Overall rating (OVR) is recalculated automatically every time you train a stat, so improvements show up immediately rather than waiting for a nightly update. One facility directly boosts this whole system: the Training Complex adds +5% XP per level to everything your players earn from matches, so investing in it early compounds over a season.
