Being elected to run a national team is a separate, later layer on top of managing a club: most managers never do it, and the ones who do only do it for one nation at a time. That combination made the usual approach to a new dashboard card wrong: if we'd added these the normal way, every manager who has never touched international football would suddenly see empty national-team cards cluttering a dashboard they built around their club.
Off by default, on purpose
Every dashboard card up to now defaulted to visible the moment it existed in the catalog. The five new national-team cards, status, previous match, next match, form, and unavailable players, are the first to break that pattern: they default to hidden for everyone, existing managers included, and they're left out of the first-time "build your dashboard" picker entirely, since a brand-new manager has no national-team context to make that choice meaningfully. The only way to see them is to open "Customize Dashboard" and add one deliberately from the Hidden Widgets tray, where a gold "National Team" badge sits right next to the button that adds it. The same badge then follows the card onto the dashboard itself, so it never quietly blends in with the club cards around it.
What "previous match" can't do yet
The club version of this card lets you open a full match report. The national-team version can't, and that turned out to be a real finding rather than a missing feature we just forgot: international fixtures already run through the same ball-by-ball match engine a league game does, but the events it generates are only ever used in memory, to work out experience points and appearance stats, and then thrown away. Nothing about an international match gets written down the way a club match's events do, so there's genuinely nothing to replay. The card links to the fixture's page on the qualifying or World Cup standings instead, and says so honestly rather than pointing at a report that doesn't exist. Giving international matches the same persisted, watchable record club matches already have is a real follow-up, not a small one.
